I got a kick out of your posting about coping a scene from a Walthers flyer, 
altering it and using it for a background. My question to you is why are you 
using photo paper? Doesn't that have a gloss to it?  I may give your idea a try 
but use a regular heaver weight paper (maybe try to print on a 8.5X14 paper), 
cut out the sky out, glue it to some thin foam board for a little relief and 
glue that to the painted background. 
Thanks for the post you sparked a lot of ideas....
