BILL:
I may be further from AZ Rock than you, probably 45mi., but I've been
on-premises with Mr. Anderson and all his rocks and minerals. That was probably
ten years ago, and Phil had the company for sale then. If fact, as my aging
mind recollects, Phil, at that time, told me he had sold the company to some
guys from Taiwan or Singapore or somewhere out there across the sea. Guess they
must have gotten caught between the old rock and hard mineral place. Regardless
of that most true anecdote, Phil does produce and sell a really quality
product. All my bags of his stuff are now in storage in St. Louis awaiting my
pending return.

In Flagstaff a mere 90mi. of rocks and minerals from Prescott Valley
A quick look at AZ Rock & Mineral's website indicates that the business is
up for sale (now is your chance, Phil !), and I would suspect that supplies
are limited. Get your orders in now...
Have fun!

I use Arizona Rock & Mineral ballast. It's made of real rock and comes in
many
shades and grades. I don't let the "HO scale" designation bother me -- I use
HO
mainline-grade ballast on my mainline, and cinders in my yards and on my
spurs.
I bought 50 pounds, then had to order another 25 pounds to finish up.
