In a model railroader magazine - not sure of which one - but in the last 10 or so years, there was an article on an HO scale of building a mechanical control tower that can handle turnouts using Armstrong levers with all of the piping and such for each mechanical turnout, B&O CPL (green, yellow, red lights), and small dwarf lights, too. The article had excellent info as well as HO measurements about this mechanical stuff. I could scale to S scale for each part needed. I have no way to find the article about building these Armstrong piping and such. I remember seeing and reading this some time ago but I don't have too many any mags anyhow.
I would like to scratchbuild the Cumberland MD Viaduct Junction control tower. This was torn down by CSX not too many years ago. Please see http://www.flickr.com/photos/jonroma/sets/72157601027979186/with/909774335/ This shows some great pix. This is for the Viaduct Jct in Cumberland, MD circa 1980 or so for the control tower. Exactly what I want to build and detail. Can anyone hunt for and supply me a copy of that mag article about the HO scale of making a control tower and piping and such? Would like to read this again and also get some measurements.
