Hi Roy....

Yep, does sound familiar. Where have I heard that before? And why is it
that the NASG will not even sign up to become a SIG? Must be the
exhorbitant fee. H-m-m-m-m...

Like any organization, the NMRA has many faces. Every member is an
indvidual with personal preferences. Some folks you will like very much
while other folks you can do without. It is no worse or no better than any
other organization, in my view. It is very diversified and full of numerous
special interest groups (SIGs). It is the SIGs that have the most
enthusiastic members pertaining to a particular subject. The amount of free
education and assistance available mererly for the asking is truly amazing.
It is interesting to note that the August and September issues of the
nmra.magazine have both had feature articles showing S scale layouts. Ever
see that in RMC or MR?

I don't think an NMRA member is any "better" than a NASG member. It is just
that they are on every street corner and it is a l-o-n-g drive to the next S
scale guy. Closer friends do have some advantages over those far away.

"S"incerely....Ed L.
