Just returned from the USofA,
Got over the jet lag sort of, and decided to catch up on the yahoo groups.
Some things change on some groups and some don't. What impressed me most on my
tour of GA,TN,KY,VA,NC & SC was the fellowship of our fraternity in a broadest
sence.
I'm into "S"Scale and known as the "S"Head at my local HO/N scale American
Model Railroad Club. I've just experienced three glorious weeks in the company
of Jim Schall, Jim King, George Courtney, Fred Tolhurst, Ken Parsons, Bob Hogan
and Larry Morton, all "S"Heads. There is hope for JK. <VBG>. Larry introduced
me to his local club HO, the "Apple Valley Model Railroaders" and another
superb HO modeler, who's work ethic (saw bare boards 2 years ago) and skill
just blew me away. Larry blows my mind full stop !!!
Bob Hogans "Sierra Northern" was the cream on the cake. Apart from the fact
it was a beautifully executed layout, it was "S", my preference. The HO layouts
were on par or per chance, even better executed, but not my preference. Too
wit, all modelers in all scales have something to offer. However, I read this
group to hear about "S"Scale doings. My Preference !!!!
Thanks to all for your generosity and hospitality, who made my trip so
thoroughly enjoyable. Looking forward to Chattanooga 2010. Sorry Ed, the bucks
don't streach that far !!!
