You sure it wasn't "Kankakee, Beaverville & Southern"?  Midwest short line 
operating much of the former NYC trackage Lafayette (IN) to Kankakee.  They 
also use part of an old Milwaukee Road line along the Indiana-Illinois boarder 
for car storage.  

Extremely railfan friendly group... Sam McCoy and I have tripped through their 
shops and chased KB&S trains going to Indy in the fall...  Good fall photo 
shoots and fabulous burgers in the bar in Iroquois!
