Last night I received three publications--The Dispatach's Membership
annual, the Milwaukee Road's historical publication (very nicely done
BTW) and The Inside Track from PBL. Wow they have some nice stuff in
the offering. That company has gone from selling craftsman kits and
upainted brass, to plastic kits to now selling essentially RTR cars and
engines painted/weathered with DCC sound much of it individualized. For
instance the common 3000 series boxcar comes with two doors, a version
for engine sand loading, and a version dedicated to artist John Coker
who apparently tagged a few cars.
Next is a series of stockcars in single and double deck versions with
two lettering schemes. The level of detail is to the extreme.
There is also some 'splaning' for the delays in the K-27 Hybrid. It's
end result is similar to the SHS 2-8-0 and it's seemlingly endless
delays. There is also a page devoted to the problems with the Chinese
that has plagued our other suppliers of trains.
I've always thought that I might go NG if I downsize my living situation
and this stuff sure does look great!
