Dear Ed,
Does your decoder have a medium NMRA plug on one end? That would
make it a lot easier to just plug the decoder into the SW1 socket. If
the DC shorting plug works, I would be very surprised if it was the
engine having the problem. Do you have another decoder to plug into
the socket?
