Hi Ed --

It's their composite construction that makes them a bit unusual.   The Drake 
brass all steel versions were a lot more common -- the DRGW had a bunch of 
them, and I am sure many other roads did, too.

Amazingly enough, the SLE&P had some of the composite version...
