Uh-oh......what did I do now? Am I heading for Lane's Jail for violating some
obscure rule of this List? Gotta admit, y'got my attention here.

Well if'n you insist, we can be serious. OK, continuing on......

I totally agree. However, I have not seen anyone "dismissed" for any reason on
this List. My recollections, foggy or groggy as they may appear, are that
everyone is treated with respect. If not, the disrespector gets a note from
Cop Lane.

Hard to tell since we don't hear from them directly. My suspicion is that many
folks are here primarily for entertainment and social conversation and don't
really have many true blue modeling questions. I don't recall anyone being
ridiculed except perhaps for me upon a few occasions. Even the NYC vs. PRR or
the String vs. DCC is not really ridicule. Just joshing around among some guys
who already know each other quite well.

Please don't hold back because of anything I said. Ask away..... No reason
not to discuss things to your heart's content.

Is there a chance that joshing and joking and chuckling is being interpreted as
ridicule and/or intimidation to prevent folks from asking questions about
certain topics? I don't see it that way, but then again folks do read emails
in different ways.
My recent comment, perhaps misunderstood, was a chuckle NOT for asking a
question about rail height, but FOR the ten zillion responses that will ensue
over the next week or two. Asking the question is fine and good. Like you
say, the fellow asking it is looking for an answer and deserves it. Reading
the replies is most humorous (to me) especially when a dozen guys all give
different answers. Worth a chuckle in my book. As they say, "Only on the
Internet!"
To clarify, I have never suggested that questions on any topic should not be
asked. I do reserve the right to chuckle at the volume and diversity of the
answers. OK, I hope?
By the way, just curious here, but what rail height did you end up choosing and
why?
