I'll second that. 
There are 'way-to-many' email and on line options to try to come up with a 
solution that fits all. When I reply (such as this reply) I log into our Yahoo 
site, click on 'post,'type in the subject and do a 'copy and paste,'  such as 
John's message above. 
Yes, it may take a little longer, but it's direct and to the point and that 
enables me to include only the part of the message that I'm responding to. Just 
like you see Ed L's response to messages.
AND...I also do a 'preview' of my message BEFORE I hit the send button.
