The MTH bridge is decidedly a European design. It would look pretty strange on
an American- or Canadian-themed layout. Stan's suggestion to abbreviate the
bridge, and thus define the end portals, would help, but what's also needed is
to complete the top lattice (between the two top chords) all the way to the end
portals.
That said, the bridge is plausible for motor vehicles. I have an HO version,
widened, sans the top lattice, that serves as a motor vehicle overpass.
