Subject: {S-Scale List} Re: Underbody details?? This n' That!
In the early days, the majority of us never paid attention to the underbody
details or the interiors of our models. That is except when we were entering
the model into a competition. But as time progressed and we wanted to be
more prototypically correct, we started completely finishing our models.
I'm still not an expert at it, but do try. Stan Furmanak and many others do
the complete body to the "inth" degree. And when contest time comes around
their models are the best. Frank Titman from the early days on, completed
his models.
In today's time, our manufacturers sell us completely detailed models and
that is the way it should be.
Yes, visitors only see what is running on the layouts, but every once in a
while a visitor will ask to see a model, and that is when I hope the one he
asks about is one that I've completely finished.
I must admit, that I love to see a prototypical model kit, completed inside
and out, even though my modeling skills are not as great, I gasp with
pleasure of witnessing such great model work. (and we do have them amongst
us!)
Now go run your trains,
"S"ee Ya,
Bill (Fraley)
