We have some here in San Antonio.  They have to have gates and concrete islands
to keep people from driving around the gates.

Not sure if any of you know about this, but in Kensington, MD they have the
first Quiet Zone ever for RR crossings

in the state of MD.

I am not sure if there are zones like this elsewhere in the US or anywhere else.

I think this is sad, as the RR tracks have been here since the 1800s, as the
people who moved here, knew about the trains coming by every day.

I wonder what will happen when there is a accident between a motor vehicle and
train which I hope does not happen, but it will someday, in my opinion due to
the nature of people running crossings.
