LOL

I have been emailing someone at the U of MD Alumni association as I in my
milk bottle collection I have a very unique U of MD waxed cardboard milk
bottle cap from the 1930s or 40s. I have a very unique Terrapin on it that
I have never seen before.

She is interested in me donating the cap, as I emailed the person who sold
me this, to see if I can get another one from him, as I think he has some
more.

But in my emails to her about MD things, as I told her about MD things on my
baseball wall at my ballpark on the layout it turns out her Dad, I think now
gone, was a big RR buff.

A small world.

The FSU Blimp, a story for another time.

Mike--It's been fun trying to keep pace with all your stories this
morning. Never heard about the FSU blimp incident, but I am glad that
the university sent them some money to help cover the replacement cost
of this piece. Student behavior at sporting events on campus is a
constant sore subject here, and I can only hope for improvement in the
near future.

I agree with you about the limited marketing of Terp gear. Places like
Penn State, Michigan, and Ohio State have us totally beat in that
department. I think we miss lots of opportunities with our alumni, and
again, I can only hope that situation improves over time. There's a lot
more in our bookstore on campus these days, and the Book Exchange is
still going strong, but we need to get all of that placed in many other
locations as well.

My dad was a rail buff and had a layout in our basement for many years.
He never did much with it, preferring to focus on collecting other
materials about his favorite railroad, the Great Northern; we had menus,
calendars, time tables, shop drawings for equipment, china, photos and
slides, just tons and tons and tons of stuff. But we always enjoyed
going to visit the great layouts that others created, especially at the
various NMRA conventions we attended as a family. Your layout sounds
quite spectacular, and I am so pleased that the Terps are represented in
such a prominent way!

Best,
Anne
