Ed,
Thanks for posting the photos, because the backend of the locomotive cab is so
open, I am wondering about the "backhead detail" also. One thought I have is
go to Duluth take a photo of the "backhead" area and have it die sublimated
onto .020 plastic stock and install the plastic interior into the front of the
crew cabin. I note from your drawing that the top of the walkway should be a
diamond tread type pattern. I though that so for the steps but was not sure
about the walkways. I will keep gathering ideas but at some point sweating
the tiny details is not good use of my time.
Last year, actually Thursday, the PPSSW visited Steve Doyle's Burlington.
Steve is just about done with one additional scene, a rural farming scene that
would have been just in front of you as you cane down the stairs. I hope Ben
got some good shots so a few can be posted. It is a great little scene. Here
on the Heartland, I am working on a couple of scenic block features, the H10-44
and some non railroad projects. I am waiting on some pieces I ordered from
IMAGINE THAT to really step forward on the scenic feature in Pine River The
Pine River line was a key subject of our conversation over at Steve's.
I also spent an afternoon with Jeff Saine at the Minnesota History Center
researching buildings around the railroads here in the Twin CIties and Duluth.
Great inspiration stuff for scene planning.
A few other big things coming up, we keep everyone posted. I hope Steve or Ben
will post some of the photos taken last Thursday, I did not get any.
