All,

The PRR P85br has been an interest of mine for a while. I had long thought
about what would be the best way to make them. An opportunity recently came
up and I tried it. I am pretty happy with the results.
http://www.lanestrains.com/PRR_P85br.htm What started as a "make a few cars
for just me" has evolved into the possibly of a 1 time offering of the cars
to others as well.

This email is to see if there is suitable interest in making a small run of
these cars available for sale.

You should consider this process to be a "something different - good enough"
project. It is by far not the most accurate P85br model ever offered. If
"gets the taste of it" is ok - this car is for you.

The car started with an American Models smooth side shell. The entire side
is milled out so that the new laser cut .020 thick styrene sides can be
applied and fits flush. A slot is cut from end to end to remove all of the
former windows. The new side is glued in place. I am calling this car to be
"ready for paint" when you receive it. You may choose to do some seam
filling or bodywork first.

What you will get:

Whatever would be included in a new undec American Models coach kit (Shell,
floor, and trucks) but with the new sides installed. It will not be painted
or primed. This car was primed to help show detail. No additional details,
couplers or decals are included.

Cost per car = $120.00 + shipping and insurance if you need it.

You will get a $30.00 per car discount if you supply your own car. It should
either be brand new undec or have the paint stripped to your satisfaction
before sending it. Stripping the car afterwards is likely to damage the new
sides. Any car in the A M smooth side series are suitable for the side
conversion <<except>> the dome and observation.

If there is enough interest here other smooth side PRR cars could possibly
be made in the future as well. Please reply directly with questions or
orders.

Thank You,
Bill Lane
