All,

This project took a bit longer than I hoped but we are ready to go now. Here
is the wood master roof http://www.lanestrains.com/Reading_coaches.jpg on a
few cars I have been working on. This is obviously for the SHS/American
Models plastic coach. I am sending the roof to the urethane caster tomorrow
to start what will most likely be a one-time production. The wood master was
made by Reading Guru John Hall. I have had it since September giving it a
smooth finish for casting. John also has a supply of Reading passenger
decals as in 2 colors well.

The exact cost per roof is still unknown. I am hoping it will be no more
than $25.00. I have been assured an extremely minimal shrinkage factor. The
company is aware that the wood roof is a perfect fit as is. The best part
that I found out recently is the urethane roof will be **hollow** with an
air pocket in the middle! This helps keep the weight down and minimizes
casting issues.

There was not an abundance of interest in making the roof vent used on the
Reading cars. But I feel sure that getting the vents made will be phase 2 if
I can get the upfront costs covered. I am probably going to make them in
Solidworks and then cast them in brass.

While 2010 had some possibly negative events in S Scale happen, the sky has
not fallen completely - yet. If you want something made there are ways that
YOU can MAKE it happen.

I have had a small group of people interested in buying this roof for about
6 months now. We are finally ready to make this happen. Please reply
**directly** to me if you want to join them. I hope to have sample roofs in
a month tops.

Thank You,
Bill Lane
