Just added some photos of the former NYC freight house in Fort Wayne,
Indiana. Not a perfect match for Barry's up coming kit, but certainly close
enough to warrant purchasing one. Maybe someday I will modify the roof, OTOH it
could work fine as is.
For the uninitiated, Fort Wayne was the southern terminal for the Fort Wayne
& Jackson RR, eventually a branch line of the NYC. The tracks to Ft. Wayne and
all the yards there are gone now but interestingly enough the freight house
remains (derelict) as does the station - completely refurbished as a bicycle
shop! Another piece of trivia - the freight house is diagonally across the
street from Lawton Park and the exact spot where NKP Berkshire #765 sat on
static display for years (intentionally miss numbered '767'!!) until rescued
and placed back in service by the group in Fort Wayne. Anyway, pleasant
memories brought back by Barry's Prince Edward Express Co., structure kit.
Barry, I'm in for one and I too would like an additional shed (if possible?)
