There was no connection at all, To my knowledge. I do not know what the
original owner (who machined all the dies) had in mind. I knew 3 of the 4
owners but no one ever said anything.

  Subject: {S-Scale List} Rex/Ace Connection

I just bought a couple of Rex gondola castings, one scale, one tinplate/AF,
and three scale replacement floors for converting AF housecars.
The conversion floors are exactly the same as the Rex scale underframes but
with the mounts for Kadee HO couplers, just like the Ace
bolster conversions, all of which leads me to wonder what connection (there
must have been one) there was between the two companies.

And since these are my first hands-on exposure to Rex cars, what AB brake
components were designed for them? Were these available
separately? Anyone on the list have some of the brake casting sets they'd be
willing to sell me?
