Michael,
Not too sure if you meant to say "unshielded" wire instead of "uninsulated" 
wire, especially with the signal cables, alot come with four wires in a 
shielded casing (with aluminum foil between outer plastic casing and inner 
insulated wires).  "Shielded" signal wires can cause havoc.
