Hi Bob; Very nice work indeed. It's good to be reminded that techniques which produced excellent results in the past continue to do so in the hands 0f a skilled model builder. The only issues with using paper materials for models relate to getting clean cuts, and protecting the model from changes in humidity. IIRC, methods for overcoming both issues were covered in the original articles.
For those who prefer styrene, HO modeler Rick Smith gave an excellent presentation at the last New Haven Railroad Historical and Technical Association (NHRHTA) meeting in November, and also published an article in the society's new modeling publication, the "Speedwitch". He followed the same general method Bob used, but without impressing any rivets, then applied the Archer rivet transfers before painting the car.
