Hi there!
Sorry if this reply is a little late and a bit out of context...
John Degnan sent this to my Amiga 2000 computer:

Ah? Maybe... I'm 44, and have an "AF" compatible switching module that I
show at the twice-a-year "Expo-Trains" shows in Laval (Quebec), but then
again, I think you mentioned in the USA only, not Canada ;)
Okay, the module [30" by 60" size] is AF compatible, but that is with SHS
"S-Trax" sectional track... the +/- 20" radius used is well suited for an
"industrial" type layout, and apart from the AF-style flanged wheels and
"biggo" couplers on SHS and other AF-compatible equipment, the layout is
supposed to be "scale".
Also, to avoid having the sameness you mention, my module is far from
being finished... I work very slowly, (maybe too slowly ;) ) but I try to
add something new for the next show... or I change something that was there
and is no longer to my liking... so there's some sort of "evolution".
We, S scalers, may be alone in our field, but there's hope: at the last
Expo-Trains show, I was the only S scaler that demonstrated a layout in our
preferred scale, apart from the numerous vendors of used AF trains. But then
a guy from a well known hobbyshop in Montreal showed up and loaned me one of
his [SHS] CN ore car with scale wheels, and an HO industrial building he
modified in S scale... that was added on my module and draw some more
attention to my setup... yƩ!! He [and others...] will be there at the next
Expo-Trains (april 2-3). Maybe you should come at that show... you'll be
welcome... ;)
See ya!
