You can get it printed on wall paper type of paper that looks great. Then apply
with wall paper paste. Get extra hands to do it.

Guys,

One wall of my layout will be devoted to the passenger terminal throat and yard
leading into the St Paul Union Depot (SPUD).  Because the real estate needs to
be dominated by track, there will be no scenery or structures (except for part
of the train shed and covered ramps).  So about the only thing which will work
to disquise the wall will be a photo backdrop.  Pursuant to this, I traveled
over to Saint Paul last week with the trusty Nikon DSLR in hand and took a
series of photos of what you would see today looking across the SPUD wye and
throat(unfortunately these will not look exactly like Christmas time 1969 but
compromises need to be taken, right?).  The scene over The Mighty Mississippi
makes a decent backdrop as the river is running parallel to the SPUD trackage.
I panoramically "stitched" the photos together in Photoshop and resized
resulting in a decent looking backdrop which will print 18 feet long by 2 feet
high to fit the space.  Then
the hammer fell!  The best quote I have been able to get for printing this
thing is $120 on "cheap paper".  To print it on photograde paper, it will cost
well over $200!  Anybody have any sources for less expensive printing?  Brother
Bob?  Making sure of S Scale content, I would rather put the $200 towards
Brother Ron's S Scale SD45!  Thanks for any help.
