Okay, thanks to all who had great answers for me.
I did get the first side of the car done with decals on each side of the box
car door.
Basically, I got the decals centered by using a ruler and taking down the
measurements for top to bottom, side to side.
I did dilute the Solvaset a bit, in a small dish, not the whole bottle, and
place the solvaset on the car. Place the decal on, got it smooth and was able
to move it around to the proper measurements.

Now to the do the other side later, should be pretty close.
