Yep, good plan. But go with a dirt color. Get a gallon of flat latex that is a light earth color - I took a sample of Floquil Earth to use as a match - and, like Stan suggests, a couple of large containers of Woodland Scenics ground foam to sprinke into the wet paint. WS offers a 54 cu in container of Blended Turf in Earth and Green colors that will work well for the basic ground cover.
