I'll second Luther's recommendation on Bar Mills powders.  Bad  
packaging - great stuff.

Bragdon powders - excellent as well.

Avoid AIM powders.  I purchased some "soot" which has large chunks of  
yellow pigment mixed throughout.  Once bitten and I'm staying away.

Chalk was a great idea 20 or 30 years ago but the world has moved on  
to better specialty products.
