I hand lay the track that is visible on my layout. I do use the #6 Shinohara
turnouts on my hidden staging yard which has the main line running through the
middle. I don't have any more of a problem with them than I do my own. There is
one thing I dislike very much about them. My AM Pacific hits hard or bangs hard
with a bounce on the Shinohara. No derailments from it. The noise just lets me
know where the train is at without seeing it. Because of that hard hit I do
make a joke about store bought verses hand lay.
