Hi all;
I think at this point we have pretty well hammered the SAL boxcar topic to
death, along with some subsidiary topics like flat cast resin, prices, etc.
I never intended my comments about why we couldn't get a 10% buy rate from the
group to spark commentary about why any individual wasn't going to buy. There
are lots of reasons, mostly specific to that individual and many of them very
understandable. It just seems odd that a very different looking car in the
single most popular period, would not spark a lot higher rate of response.
As to the members, there are 990 of them of whom 170 are "bouncing", meaning
their email address is no longer valid or the mailbox is full. Discounting
those there are still over 800 members, but no where near that number who POST.
I suppose we could assume that only those who post are really active, but what
do the rest do, dump all the mail into the spam bucket? I don't have time to
see if the are mostly "web only" members.
I don't want a thread speculating on these silent members, although if you are
one, this would be a great time to check-in with the group and tell is what is
going on in your S scale life.
