Ken,  Just like the SAL's, the X-29's, the MILW ribbed, and the B&O 
wagontops, Spiral Hill hoppers travel all over the country reminding us 
of one of the most famous S layouts ever.

Back in the circuit letter dayz exchanging private road lettered' 
hoppers was fairly common.  I don't know why they used hoppers--- 
perhaps they were easy to letter and fairly cheap?  I wonder who might 
have a bunch of them--it would be good for historical purposes.
