I just emailed a CAD “screen shot” of the 44-tonner design progress to all
who have prepaid. I expect to have everything ready to go to patterning
late next week. The Phase IV body is done; underframe is about ½ finished
mainly due to having to fit the trucks and motor mount to the design. Once
this version is designed, the Phase I will be wrapped up in short order.

We’re in the last hour to get an order in for these engines. I will only
produce what has been prepaid so far and dealer order. If you’re just now
hearing about these engines, that’s OK .. there is still time but only until
mid-May. After that, I will only have enough machined AF-compatible
wheelsets and mechanisms on hand to complete the production run. They will
not be rerun.

Both body styles will be produced as a 1-pc urethane body with a
preassembled Athearn mechanism (including regauged wheels), cast resin truck
sideframes, clear urethane window and headlight inserts, Kadee couplers,
wire for the grabs/railings with forming jigs. Each version is also
available with AF-compatible wheelsets. Both will be prewired for DC only
but since the frame is urethane, it’s insulated, making DCC installation
much easier than with standard diesels. If you purchased a GE 70-tonner or
H10-44, you already have a good idea of what to expect.

The “scale” version is $325; the “AF” version is $345. USPS Priority
shipping is $15 for 1-2 engines, $20 for 3-4. Contact me off-list with
questions, to order, etc.
