Luther - My experience parallels Bill's. I have two cars, one rides on SHS trucks and the other on brass National Type 'B' trucks. I installed the 802 couplers using the CG draft gear box - sort of a pain but I'll do it for this car. Both cars ride the correct height from the rail and the coupler height is right on.
I mounted the trucks directly to the car's bolster, no shim and did not use the SHS spacer that you would normally use when putting scale trucks on SHS plastic cars...
