Thanks Chris - I intend to. I first saw one of these as a built-up model (by 
Don Thompson, I believe) at the 1982 NASG convention and ordered six of them on 
the basis of that car.

Someone once made the comment that they were an accurate prototype of nothing. 
Far be it from me to argue that point, but that car looked good, as well as 
plausible, to me, as do the models I've seen here. With the exception of Don's 
Trainstuff boxcars (I have, or had, three), there was nothing that even 
resembled a common 40-ft. boxcar out there, and I was glad to get them.

There was a time when manufacturers seemed to have an abnormal affinity for the 
unusual and weird, but wouldn't consider commonly seen rolling stock that could 
sell over and over again. S went from the "reefer" scale to the "one of 
everything unusual, prototype or not" scale, unless you were a craftsman 
builder, until American Models finally released its RTR FP-7 and 40-ft. boxcar.
