Dave, Of course you are correct, except we are talking about the patterns here, not just castings of containers. Bill got the patterns, the originals - from a dead guys estate. Without limitations, he can do as he wishes.
Put more simply, If you buy one of Jim Kings kits, you do not have the right to copy it and sell it to others, but if he or sells you the patterns (masters) without express limitations, you can make them all day long and give them away. The only false impressions here are the ones raised as to ownership from "third" parties. If the estate did not have the right to sell them, then that is another issue. That clearly is not the issue here. I stand by what I said. Bill bought and paid for them. They are his to do withas he wishes. If they really weren't Stans (and susequently his estates) to sell, the real owner had been an idiot not retrieving them. I stand by what I said. On to the next topic.
