The several listings of multiple Russ Downs cars on ebay recently causes me to 
wonder about four or five relettered AM cars
I bought from the Seeburger estate.  They are obviously done from CDS 
transfers, and very neatly so, especially the end
lettering (which I know from experience is the hardest part).  I hadn't 
particularly connected them with Russ Downs, although
the owner of Hoquat (Jeff Winslow?) mentioned that he had a box for a VTR 
boxcar he believed done by Russ, and I had bought 
a relettered VTR PRS 50' among the items in the estates he was handling.  The 
lettering on the VTR was not so well-done as
on the cars from Don Seeburger, but perhaps as Russ apparently had health 
problems toward the end, that may have been the
reason.
Can someone more knowledgeable about S scale than I confirm my conjecture?
