SHABBONA RR ran the full schedule of trains on the 2nd District today,
beginning with the East and Westbound passenger trains, which met on the wye at
Mooar Yard.

As soon as #1 arrived at Terminal District, the daily scheduled 2nd Class
freight train left and proceeded to Mooar Yard. As soon as his caboose was out
of the way, the TD yard engine grabbed #1's train and set the head end cars
over on top of the rear cars of the Daily Mail on the Passing Track.

The Daily Mail engines trundled off of the "pit" and down to the East end of
the yard and tied onto their train. After testing the air and steam, the Daily
Mail left for Keokuk.

Meanwhile, the freight train had arrived at Mooar Yard, the engines had cut off
and returned to the engine house. Since they were an "A" and "B" consist, they
required turning on the wye, which they were able to accomplish ahead of the
Daily Mail. The yard engine had already tied the caboose on the outbound train,
so the engines tied on and the train waited for the Daily Mail to arrive.

The Daily Mail heads into Mooar Yard at MJ Tower, and when it is due, everybody
at Mooar Yard is on the alert, because it comes around the end of the engine
house at a good clip. Once clear of the yard crossovers, it stopped and backed
through the East yard crossover to the East Leg of the wye and into KUD.

The Daily Mail only lays over a short time at KUD before leaving across the top
leg of the wye, a the Westbound freight train at Mooar Yard follows a short
time later. At Terminal District, the crews yarded their trains and took the
engines to the pit. The night hostler will turn them and make up the power for
tomorrow's trains. The night yard engine will switch and make up the outbound
trains, which includes turning the Daily Mail combine on the turntable for
tomorrow's Eastbound trip.
