Chris, Your posting about the recent RMC special section has come full
circle to my postings last weekend (Blast from the past). I've beening
copying some articles for future construction articles that I'll put in
PDF format for when the time comes. One of the articles that got
misplaced until just a few minutes ago was something that "we" put
together some years ago. I don't remember who asked me to do the work
but I did much of the photography. It was a rather nice pullout section
in the June 95' issue of Model Railroading magazine. It's 8 pages of
information of mixed editorial, and many fairly large ads from
companies--some still cranking out product and some that are no longer
with us.
Major features were RR's GE 44 ton, and SD9 diesels, Railroad Art's H-39
hopper, Division Point's Rio Grande caboose, Billy Wades' S/Sn3 Modeling
Guide, SouthWinds' PRR cabins, AM's PRR GGI, SHS PS-2, PRS Boxcars,
Omnicon's F & Sharks and PBL's new Heisler with a full page ad.
As a side note there didn't seem to be any mention of AF or Hi-rail
except in a ad for the S Gaugian magazine. One of the two GG-1's and
one of the Downs tank cars had large couplers but they're not that well
seen.
