Yes, I have two or three AF plastic bodies (and one cast zamac that will stay
much longer in the project drawer), and the die work is quite
nice for conversion material. The brake staff and housing need to go, and I
cut away most of the AF bolster excresence, replacing it with
built up styrene sheet and strip; the cutout on the endsill has been patched
with styrene around the Kadee draft gear. The obvious fix for
all the holes in the deck is to glue a sheet of grooved Evergreen planking on
top; I have gotten that far but cut out only one side for the stake
pockets. One can drill and file out the corner steps, ending with decent scale
appearance.
