Bill...
Years ago, I collected fossils along the old rail bed of the Reading. Now that
I am am myself an old fossil, after retiring and moving to PA (only about
twenty miles from where the Reading actually ran), something got me kick
started. Just last night, I realized I need a few Reading references. I'm
already getting John Hall's book on Reading cabooses. Which Pacific are you
doing in brass.
I know some here presently feel that playing with old Flyer to build stuff is
old hat. I just don't have skill with brass, but I'm thinking of attempting to
butcher a few Flyer Atlantic shells into a reasonable 'good enough' copy of the
semi-streamlined Pacific. For some reason (the way my brain is wired I guess) I
have considerable affection for streamlined steam. Heck even though I'm not
into C&O, I really like the old Hudson sitting at the B&O museum in B'more.
Also, If Don (SHS) or AM or someone else ever did a Crusader in S scale, I
would find some sort of ' old guy bail out' grant to buy one. The Crusader
would be a bit too much warming and bending styrene for me. L.O.L. Think of
all those flutes!
By the way if Don is reading this, what was your comment to my post, I don't
think it came through.
Thanks to all.... Gene
