Hi Donald;

While I haven't used them yet, I've heard good things about the high bass
speakers.

OTOH, a lot of people have noted that they get better results pointing the
speakers of whatever type DOWN toward the tracks, firing through the truck
mounting holes or openings in fuel tank bottom or tender/ash pan bottom. It
seems that the sound waves bouncing off a block enhances the base values.

Those in doubt can test by holding a hand close above the upward pointing
speaker output. If the result doesn't sound better to you, then don't bother to
change the mounting to point down.

Most AM diesels don't provide a plug for the decoder. While I hard-wired mine,
adding an after-market plug will be easier if you need to change out the
decoder for any reason later. Finally, get some warm-white LEDs and resistors
to replace the single AM bulb (or blueish "white" LED). The longer life span
and improved color are both worth the effort.
