Your impassioned defense of clerical prerogatives is touching. Actually, I've
known a fair number of colleagues in my line of work over the
years who are model railroaders, perhaps because we don't have the full
spectrum of leisure activities that are available to the laity (or at least
many think we're not supposed to).
Most of us, unlike Mr Heald, just don't advertise our day jobs.
And I well remember the organizer of the LSR banquet one year when I was
stationed in San Antonio who apologized to me for asking his own pastor to do
the invocation; I assured him that when I was involved in the hobby, I was just
another hobbyist.
