Okay... was on the phone during my reply... didn't get to blab as much as I intended... SO...
PART II: > Andre, > I hope you show some photos of the project in various phases. > Tom FINALLY... somebody asked to see a pic! Like I said, I've got quite a ways to go, but... I'M MODELING! If you'll overlook my poor model photography skills, here's a quickie-pic: http://www.vscalecreations.com/3rail/SLSF241a.jpg Some of the work doesn't show up in the pic, but, I have accomplished: * Cut off the cast nubbins and made/installed new footboards. * Countsunk the pimples that were supposed to be poling pockets and turned into poling pockets. * Plugged the huge holes for the factory handrails and sanded smooth. (For redrilling and using w/scale sized handrails.) * Sanded all seams/etc. * Drilled the frame and installed Kadee 802's n' draft gear. * Laminated strips of .040" and .030" sytrene (fits the .070" side sill thickness), smoothed edges of same, then cut the "Falsies" for the sidesill corners and glued in place. Sanded and smoothed the joints, and will be using filler (got to purchase) to finish them. Still a ways to go... but PROGRESS is being made!
