Hi Gale --

The turntable leads have what is called a half draw, and yes the narrow gauge
gets centered in the track. The turntable also has four rails, as do several
of the radial tracks. One stall of the engine house is narrow gauge only, the
other two are dual gauge. The track on the camera side of the engine house
is also narrow gauge only, as are several of the garden tracks. All the
servicing facilities are joint use for both the SLE&P and the CCC (the narrow
gauge).

The “story” behind all this is that the engine house was originally all narrow
gauge, but when the SLE&P (standard gauge) needed local servicing facilities,
they took over part of the engine house, changing it from 4 evenly spaced
stalls to three unevenly spaced stalls to handle the larger locos in two of
them. This also required tearing down the original brick front, and as a cost
measure, it was rebuilt in wood. The model is a kit bash of a Korber HO
roundhouse, now rectangular with a shop extension out the back. None of this
is in the video, so don’t look for it. I have added an overall shot of the
area to the SLE&P album – somewhat of a mess, as things are always under
construction. This photo is probably most easily found in the “new photos”
section of the home page.

Have fun!

....the dual gauge heads toward the turntable does it become centered for the
table, and then are there dual gauge stalls or is the narrow gauge service area
separate?
