Dave,
No I didn't ask him because he started out 'normal' (in our world that's
subject to opinions to start with), but started filming all the artwork
on the walls, my AF engine collection and just every little thing he
could find. I find about 30% of visitors are from a fairly long
distance, another 30% are local but unknown to me, and the rest are
friends, clubmembers, neighbors etc. So with that mix you're never sure
what's going to show up. This is opposed to being open during a NASG
convention or other closer knit group.
Aside that, many years ago, one of our S club members invited a N guy
who he worked with to our meeting. He seemed to like S, so we started
giving him our sales pitch. One question he did ask, was how many of us
were around. We gave him some round numbers, but also stating that there
were many who for some reason or another didn't make themselves known
(privacy?). So then he asks--who are those unknown S scalers! it was a
dah moment and obviously without an answer. Luckily he decided he liked
his N better.
