Bill: Your depressed center flat model photo: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/S-Scale/photos/recent/973893406/view
reminded me of something; just took me a bit to dig it up. I posted a prototype photo taken last summer in Fostoria, Ohio. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/S-Scale/photos/recent/182549845/view The NS train is eastbound on the former NKP main line. After the depressed center flat car, the entire train was flats loaded with steel beams separated by idler flats. Would be interesting to know where that train was headed!! Anyway, obviously depressed center flats are still earning their keep. This one had 4-wheel trucks, but occasionally you will see some 6-wheel jobs.
