Brain Jackson explained what you basically get with the kit. I've built
several of them, and they aren't that hard. You do have to cut out the
windows and walls to size, but on most of them, the window openings are
marked so all you need to do is cut them out. The windows and doors are
metal castings and may have some flash to clean. They may not be as nice as
some of Grandt Line's castings, but they fit the structures. Since most
laser-cut kits I've built have laser-cut windows you have to build, these
are actually faster since you don't need to build up the windows from
several pieces.
Actually these "older" kits are easier to modify than most laser-cut kits.
Since you have to cut the window openings, you can easily substitute a
different window casting, if you so wanted. Another example: I built the
set of LV kits for the mine complex but I made the building for the tram
railway to unload coal large enough that it could accommodate 3' gauge
hoppers. I didn't need much more than some additional siding material.
