I am well into converting from highrail to using Tomalco code 100 track and
code 110 wheelsets. I am having a lot of trouble even putting the rolling
stock on the track. I have not operated enough to know how hard it may be
to keep the rolling trains on the track. But I would think using any
wheelsets smaller than code 110 would just make it harder. So it is hard for
me to envision a whole lot of demand for the code 88 or anything smaller,
though more power to those of you who are able to do so.

By my understanding, this is NMRA code 88 in relation to the wheel tread
and size of the flange. These wheels should be compatable with all readily
available, standard gauge, NMRA spec. turnouts. They are NOT P:64... P:64
sets are already available from NWSL and have been for years.

But as always, folks... DEMAND will make these become a readily-available
item from NWSL... nothing more, nothing less. Otherwise we can all just
rely on custom orders that take months to fill. In HO land, Kadee has seen the
movement toward a more scale appearance and has recently added code 88
wheels to their line-up (as seen below).

That is all the same lines of what I'm hoping to see in S as well. Those
HO folks truly have the best of MOST worlds... except SIZE!

John,

What is the profile designation for these wheels? Are these NASG profile
wheels at 0.88" width, thus "code 88", but NOT Proto:64 wheels which NWSL
sells as their "code 87" wheels? Or are these also Proto:64 wheels?

models (all of which are SHS models), so if anyone else is interested, now is
the time to jump on this train!
