Friends,
Although that is a great looking car, it seems most opinions put the
car's photograph as something other than what we actually have in S
scale by any of our manufacturers. If Pieter is correct and the photo
was 'borrowed' from an ebay site, an illegal act was committed.

It's one thing to borrow a photo from the internet or some previous
publication, if permission is given, to build a particular model or when
looking for ideas. However, it's totally another thing to take that
photo (if that is what has actually happened) and use if for commercial
purposes without permission of the owner. And indeed that permission
has to be in writing.

This could be an unfortunate incident that leaves the NASG open for
Federal copyright law violations. I do hope someone will look into this
situation pronto!

I've always discouraged when some ebay seller has taken one of my SHS,
DesPlains or AM website photos and put them up when they're selling
something. It shows that they are a thief and probably morally can't be
trusted--why, because it highly unlikely that the product I photographed
is actually the product they're selling plus it's my photograph! When I
ebay a product, a take a few minutes to take my own photos again,
because the photo is the actual product.

Over the years I've had many companies ask me if they can 'borrow' my
photographs. My answer is always, give me your address so I can send a
bill! On the other end of the spectrum is Tom Henderson of SideTracks,
who I think one could classify as a 'one man shop'. Tom and I worked
out a deal where I supplied many of my photos for his use and I got
stuff in return--what a wonderful world!

I think Roy Inman and especially Vic Roseman, plus myself wouldn't have
to classify ourselves as starving artists anymore if people in our
little world had a bit more respect!
