My friend Charlie came over today and found the 2 shorts in my new track. There was a jumper in place that should not have been there and a PC tie throw bar was not gapped. With almost no formal wiring in place yet, some turnouts spiked in 1 position due to no turnout motors yet, and a NCE PowerCab clipped to the rails my SHS NW2 ran on new track for the first time. That really made my day. I settled on a layout deck height of 53". Formal wiring will hopefully begin in 2 weeks when Charlie comes back. I am also replacing all of the PC tie throw bars with brass stock. I think that with the stall motors it will only be a matter of time until the copper delaminates and causes failure anyway.
