Earl, It seems to me that there was a problem with video recording the clinics due to some contractual obligations with the convention center. Something of that nature was in some of the literature that I thumbed through. Often a vendor (video producers, food vendors, teamsters etc.) has a lock for a particular venue, so all work needs to go through that selected vendor.
In addition there is often a copyright issue with some of the materials in those presentations and some of the presenters themselves. I don't know what policy the NMRA has in effect.
